SECOND HAnd OBOES FOR SALE

Having a great instrument makes a huge difference to a player of any level. A better quality instrument is easier to blow (especially for low notes), has well designed key work (beginner oboes are very "clunky"), has a a superior tone and is better in tune. It also an allows an individual's musicality to shine through as it has more flexibility. A new instrument costs a lot, so a second hand oboe can be a great option.

There is a perception that higher level instruments are for higher level players but this is definitely not the case! The better the instrument one plays on, the more joy one gains from playing. People of Grade 6 and above do need to be playing on quality wooden instrument however. By the time one is studying for a diploma or doing Performance oboe at Uni, one needs a professional level instrument (although those who have one before this are at an advantage).

If you are interested in selling an oboe or cor anglais/english horn, please contact me  ([email protected]/0211394299) for more details. I sell on a commission basis of 10%. Instruments must be of good quality and have been serviced within the past year by a reputable technician. I expect you to offer a 6 month warranty. Ideally I would like to try your instrument before agreeing to sell it. I will put an advertisement on this website page prepared by you.  In addition I will send out emails promoting it to oboists, schools and teachers throughout the country who may be interested in buying a second hand instrument. It is helpful if you are happy to let potential buyers take the instrument home to try for a few days. They must first sign a form agreeing that the instrument is completely their responsibility, should anything happen to it, before taking it.
